Emerald Conference 2020
Let’s take a moment to consider just how important this upcoming event is: Emerald Conference is the largest scientific and technical conference for the entire cannabis industry. This year’s official title for the event is The Evolution of Cannabis Science and it’s precisely the place where all the main players come to present their most innovative solutions in cannabis production, extraction, and processing.
- Regulatory and compliance
- Pre-clinical/clinical research
- Cultivation and alternative strategies
- Extraction and separation
- Formulation and fill/finish
- Analytical solutions
For anyone involved in the cannabis industry, especially the more technical aspects, this event is a must. You won’t want to miss all the exciting developments that will surely be unfolding this year! We all know that our industry is booming and that the underlying science is moving rapidly, so be sure you keep up with all the advancements and innovation.
That being said, just a few weeks ago, Marijuana Business Daily (MJBizDaily) acquired the Emerald Conference. MJBizDaily also organizes the annual MJBizCon, widely considered to be the most prestigious cannabis expo and marijuana business conference. Capna Systems was present at MJBizCon back in December of 2019 and this conference was a smashing success for us. We were able to connect with clients, unveil some cutting edge tech, and forge new business collaborations, so take a moment and read about it on our blog!

Capna Systems and THC Remediation
The Capna team has been working diligently and tirelessly on a viable, efficient, and cost-effective THC Remediation solution. That being said, we’re coming to Emerald Conference 2020 with a specific goal in mind: to share this solution!
Let’s not forget that one of the major interest areas for the conference is Extraction and Separation, and it appears that THC remediation is the future of the cannabis industry. Furthermore, developing the right remediation procedure is especially crucial to:
- Keep THC levels below the federally mandated 0.3% throughout the process
- Create an industrial hemp processing protocol that has a consistently high yield
Any lab looking to implement THC remediation will have to take the time to develop its methodology, including choosing the type of chromatography as well as the solvent combination and chemical makeup of the column. All of this takes time and money! Learning novel solutions to these challenges can give any operation a leg up, thereby allowing them to scale up quickly and/or cut operational costs.
Additionally, the importance of efficiency and high yield can not be overstated. If a processor is looking to purchase the equipment and solvents to run the remediation process, they’ll have to ask themselves:
- Are we being efficient?
- Have we maximized the yield from our biomass?
- Can we effectively monitor and remediate the THC?
This is where Capna Systems comes in! Due to our exciting research and development, we’ve developed a system with a low cost of manufacturing for THC remediation. In other words, we have a cutting edge solution that is viable, efficient, and cost-effective!
